Mission Statement: I believe in preparing students for life beyond high school. I bring my business work experience into the classroom to teach good work ethics and my science background to teach content. I want students to be active participants in their communities and to be able to evaluate their world with scientific perspective in order to make the best possible decisions about their lives.

Bio: 13th year teaching. Prior to being an educator she was a field Biologist for the National Biological Service and the Missouri Department of Conservation. She lives with her husband Michael and their one-eyed dog Lulu. She enjoys the outdoors.

Reasons I Enjoy Teaching : Teenagers bring so much excitement and personality to the classroom; I enjoy seeing the love of learning in my students' eyes; I'm definitely kept current with pop culture; I want to make a difference in the lives of the future of America.   The students at LHS are awesome and make me smile every day. I'm so glad to be here! :)

Personal Interests : Reading, power walking, spending time with my daughter (age 8) and son (age 5), riding my cruiser, traveling, surfing the internet, reading, music, movies, dinner with friends.

Life Experiences:   Married in Florence, Italy; worked in Denali National Park, Alaska; State of Alaska tennis doubles champion for two years in high school; backpacked through Europe for a month;

Traveled to :Italy, France, England, Switzerland, Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, Mexico and many states in the U.S.
