Rotary Youth Leadership Awards-Application Deadline: March 31, 2010- is a life-changing leadership training program for young men and women where leadership skills and principles are learned, developed and enhanced in an atmosphere of trust and respect. The purpose of RYLA is to encourage and assist current and potential youth leaders in methods of responsible and effective leadership. Any high school sophomore or junior may apply to attend RYLA. Generally, applicants selected have excelled in one or more areas of high school involvement and have potential or proven leadership experience. The United States Center for Disease Control (CDC) will be hosting a "Disease Detective Camp" in the summer of 2010. The CDC Disease Detective Camp is an academic day camp held at CDC's headquarters in Atlanta, GA. Colorado Press Association - High School Student Internship Program Students complete a 10 week internship at the newspaper of their choice.  Internships can involve reporting, photography, page design, ad design, or advertising sales.  A $500 stipend is provided upon successful completion of the internship.  Some newspapers will provide a salary.  The deadline to apply for a summer 2010 internship is April 2, 2010.  Please visit the Denver Foundation Website for complete details on how to apply.
