UNC Frontiers of Science Institute for Sophomores and Juniors:
Six weeks of intensive study of the sciences at the University of Northern Colorado in the summer. Great opportunty to build experience, earn college credit, and position for scholarships. Rotary Youth Leadership Awards-Application Deadline: March 31, 2010- is a life-changing leadership training program for young men and women where leadership skills and principles are learned, developed and enhanced in an atmosphere of trust and respect. The purpose of RYLA is to encourage and assist current and potential youth leaders in methods of responsible and effective leadership. Any high school sophomore or junior may apply to attend RYLA. Generally, applicants selected have excelled in one or more areas of high school involvement and have potential or proven leadership experience. The United States Center for Disease Control (CDC) will be hosting a "Disease Detective Camp" in the summer of 2010. The CDC Disease Detective Camp is an academic day camp held at CDC's headquarters in Atlanta, GA. The camp is open to upcoming high school juniors and seniors who will be 16 years old by the first day of camp. Colorado Press Association - High School Student Internship Program Students complete a 10 week internship at the newspaper of their choice.  Internships can involve reporting, photography, page design, ad design, or advertising sales.  A $500 stipend is provided upon successful completion of the internship.  Some newspapers will provide a salary.  The deadline to apply for a summer 2010 internship is April 2, 2010.  Please visit the Denver Foundation Website for complete details on how to apply. The Denver Museum of Nature and Science (DMNS) will be hosting Teen Science Scholars Program in the summer of 2010 for 10-12th grade students. The program provides paid employment fo students with DMNS over the summer and is designed for students to experience scientific research in a museum setting. Rocky Mountain Flycasters (RMF)- is hosting a Youth Conservation and Fly Fishing Day Camp for students ages 14-18.  The purpose of the camp is “to present concepts that contribute to a natural, ecological stream system through a hands-on experience to develop a recognition, and appreciation of the origin and importance of a clean, healthy coldwater resource” and “To introduce sport fly fishing as a recreational pursuit that helps better understand the importance of maintaining healthy trout populations as indicators of coldwater streams’ water quality.” If accepted, the fee is $30.  For complete details and to apply, please visit their website by clicking here.

University of Colorado High School Honors Institute-The High School Honors Institute is an intensive and exciting 4-day campus residential program that introduces engineering to students with strong academic records in math and science and who are interested in careers in engineering.
