Genetics
Genetics is a different kind of class here at LHS. It is devoted to expanding the student’s knowledge of Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) and its applications in the real world. In a country where cloning is now possible, and scientists are experimenting with gene changes, this information could become vital in years to come. During the class, the students learn from a hands-on method, even extracting DNA from a cell to study it. Anothers difference lies in the matter of testing. Students do not take multiple choice question tests, but are rather encouraged to think about what the knowledge they gain means. Students take open-note essay-question tests to test understanding of concepts.
